Social
Science Research is important for policy formulation aiming at enhancing
socio-economic welfare. Identification of the problem, appropriate research
design, understanding the inter-relationship between variables, knowledge about
statistical tools is, therefore essential for finding solutions to the
contemporary issues. In order to promote social science researches in the
country, research trainings and capacity building of the young researchers is a
continuous process. This enhances the young aspirants to undertake research
studies and contribute to policy-making and knowledge creation.
The
proposed training program intends to improve research skills and competence of
young social scientists. The participants will be exposed to theories and
practical application of the research methods and research tools used in social
science researches. The programme will include lectures, field training,
practical exercises (in SPSS), report writing and presentations. The training
program predominantly follows the research methodology course guidelines of
ICSSR, New Delhi.
